I always try to donate to artists on Paste/NoiseTrade, even if I don't like the music itself, to help the artists out. It is a long, uphill climb for unsigned artists, and in a lot of cases, they do better than the Britney Spears-type crapola we hear in top 40 so much, and I've become quite involved with unsigned/indie artists as of the last couple years or so, helping to promote them. Joe Bone and The Coffins is just one example.

There is an SXSW Sampler to be had for free here, just thought it worth a mention. There are other albums to be had for free by artists on NoiseTrade as well. Please, donate if you can, to help them!
