It is sad. How can Linux bring money in these guys pocket's? There must be a way otherwise it is going to die. No one can work for free for ever.

A little sad but it's already stable so it's still usable in linux

well, I've not been active here for a while due to various reasons, but I thought I'd come back with a semi-bang.
Songbird lives on with a new name supported by a team who contributed to Songbird at

I've dabbled with Songbird's impressive interface but not mastered it, so I don't, yet, feel comfortable with it. One of my neighbors, who, along with his wife, is a client for two bathroom remodels (!), is a Songbird developer! Thanks, Sam, for the nightingale link. I'll look at it.

No. Our server’s weren’t hacked remotely. Turns out a disgruntled user who was given server access early in the project has freaked out and deleted the forums.
We have no way of knowing if passwords were compromised in the process but we do know that email addresses and our admin passwords in the main website were changed in humorous ways, so in the process of rebooting the project, we also recommend people reboot their passwords too. Whilst we have no reason to believe that they would use the passwords maliciously (especially as we have their full details), and barely any evidence which proves that they could access them even in encrypted form, we feel that being upfront is the best policy.
Our new policies will help prevent this happening in the future. Sorry..
In other news, we have taken the previous websites offline which ran on the compromised server, and replaced them with this temporary website. Unfortunately, this website still needs more work, however, there was no other option available. Please be patient whilst we sort things out. We plan to reboot this project in the near future to allow it to operate better, faster, and REALLY bump up Linux support. So stay tuned

Boss, the site's back up and looking good. You might want to mention to them at
this thread on the mdv forum about it. Download not available just yet, but will be soon so they say there.
