Anyway, the java plugin posted at the java.com website is 54.5 MBs. The CentOS 6.2 one is only 27 MBs, confirmed with installation of it:
Code: Select all
Downloading Packages:
java-1.7.0-openjdk-1.7.0.9-2.3.3.el6_3.1.i686.rpm | 27 MB 59:23

Also, it installed right alongside java 1.6 and 1.5 (which should have been loooooooonnng deprecated):
Code: Select all
:) rpm -qa | grep java
java-1.7.0-openjdk-1.7.0.9-2.3.3.el6_3.1.i686
java_cup-0.10k-5.el6.i686
java-1.5.0-gcj-1.5.0.0-29.1.el6.i686
libreoffice-javafilter-3.4.5.2-16.1.el6_3.i686
tzdata-java-2012i-2.el6.noarch
java-1.6.0-openjdk-1.6.0.0-1.50.1.11.5.el6_3.i686I'm wondering if this is because LibreOffice might still depend on java 1.6? When I tried to uninstall java 1.6 first, it wanted to also uninstall LibreOffice and VLC. VLC... wtf could it possibly have to do with java at all?
If I try to remove java 1.5 as well... Well, I *would* tell it to do it, if I weren't unsure about flute and some of the libs...
So, what's going on here?
