XFCE is a good DE for all those who miss Gnome 2 and it has a configurable panel(s).
You can add menus to it and one new good one is Whisker menu

It has a search function and you can add apps to your favorites by simply right-clicking them and tell if you want it in the favorite section or on the desktop. It will become default in Manjaro as of version 0.8,7

You can assign it to any key or menu button with xfce4-appfinder - It does not have to be in XFCE - it works in Openbox too...



The full version with favorites /usr/bin/xfce4-popup-whiskermenu seems to only work in XFCE though.

A couple of things here. First, good show on the Valhallan translation of this.

Another, I LOVE that desktop in the video. The wallpaper is really nice!

The last being that Whisker isn't in the Mageia repos.
Think I'd get away with the Fedora installer from the site? Think I'll try it.

Trying to see if anything in the repos provides the libstd++.
Nope, the highest there is, is 3.4.17.
Think I'll try the F18 rpm. This was with the F19 one.

I have both the Whisker menu and the classical menu side by side.

I only use Whisker tho..

You're good for those who don't have time any more to just cruise the inet for cool things, or put their own photos together for wallpapers. Someday, I'll upload everything from this summer, then you can all have a look and pick. Might as well get it over with I guess. Soon.
