Ready for Gnome 3.2? no more suspend on laptop lid close

Postby viking60 » 17 Sep 2011, 14:30

Apparently the Gnome devs have started listening to their users. As of Gnome 3.2 there will be a choice, not "forced" suspend when you close your laptop lid.
Personally I am actually using suspend but I can change it anytime in the gnome-tweak-tools already. So I guess the news is that they have started listening.
About time....
Now keep on listening;
I want to have the menu bar at the bottom - give me back this functionality that you had in Gnome2 and removed in Gnome3!
Even if I set it in dconf-editor it does not work.
You only want it to look like Windows you say?
So what! I like choice and freedom, including the choice of being an idiot. Read on:
My choice - not yours forced upon me!
Manjaro 64bit on the main box -Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 CPU 920 @ 2.67GHz and nVidia Corporation GT200b [GeForce GTX 275] (rev a1. + Centos on the server - Arch on the laptop.

Hear, hear!!! Gnome 3 is totally thumbs down for me for lots of reasons!
