This is a Linux system and is chosen because of its superior flexibility. This will enable the Oslo stock exchange to adapt smoothly to future demands.
The system has been in use on the London Stock exchange since Nov 2010 and as of February this year, it has been handling all transactions there.

This Linux based system was originally developed in Sri Lanka but the London SE bought the company when they decided to go for it.

The Oslo SE has earlier been using TradeElect
This system has been marketed by Microsoft for Windows server and .NET, but the system was not acceptable any more after problems in 2009
