 | Linux.com is back after having been hacked. The cleanup toke a month and they toke it seriously. I bet it will be a long time until something similar happens again. Linux.com is now forcing everyone (every connection) to encryption (HTTPS/TLS). And all users are required to set new passwords on their accounts. This happens even if they claimed that all existing passwords were hashed at the time of the hack. |

Yes but the mirrors.kernel.org host for the nearby SF big, fast mirror of Mandriva is still nowhere to be found

and it looks like only two devels have re-made their accounts on the page where I sometimes look for kinky kernel stuff
ftp://ftp.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/people/ (axboe & jcm, as of now).

How many used to have an account there? They used GitHub as a temporary solution I think.....

Oh, I never counted but I had to scroll the page to see all the people. When drilling down, I could see many directories only had very old material, so it could be many will not get restored, idk. I saw some report about the interim means of providing ongoing development but I'm not so concerned with any of this, just making small talk! ;p
