Linux Desktop doubles market share

The Linux Desktop has doubled its market share in two years from 1,74% in September 2014 to 3.37% in August 2017.
The main increase has come in the last month where the market share was just 2.53 %
These market shares are hardly astronomical but compared to Windows the development is encouraging.
Windows 7 is loosing market shares and Windows 10 is growing at a snail's pace.
Compared to Mac; Linux is doing well too.
Mac has dipped from 8 % share in 2015-16 to 6 % in 2017.
So Mac and Linux are surprisingly close in the desktop market.
Given the money spent on marketing - it is a miracle that Linux is so close to Mac.
