Contributors to Gnome

You will notice that only 30% is developed by professionals. The biggest contributor here is Red hat with 16% Novell is second with 10% .

Canonical has 1% and is beaten by companies like Intel, Fluendo +++.

This has been criticized by Redhat amongst others (Novell/mono).
It is a healthy sign for Linux and Open source that the biggest contributor also makes the biggest profit. And it adds to the MS confusion about open source being communism that never can be business - when it in fact is a profitable business.

This raises some questions:
Is this another round of envy towards the Ubuntu success? Are contributions only measured in the code that is provided, or do we need another standard?

It sure makes Ubuntu look like a parasite. I was suprised by the figures he presents.
