Linux keeps Novell afloat

The computer business like every other business is struggling in the US these days. In Novels case, only the Linux side of the business is delivering satisfactory results.
The company just published the results for the 3. quarter and it shows that the turnover of Linux products has increased by 22 % compared to last year.The Linux turnover for 3 quarters was 38 million dollars.
In the same period the total turnover dropped from 245 to 216 million dollars. As you know it is god old SUSE that is the core of Novels Linux activity.
Novel claims that the market now sees Novel as a supplier of Linux products and services and not only as a supplier for major businesses.
They also claim that the deal with Microsoft where Novel is the only Linux supplier that never will risk a patent dispute with MS, has made their products more attractive.
It could be argued that all the other Linux distros have been made more unattractive by the threat from Microsoft.
