Windows 8 update gives boot error

Postby viking60 » 27 Mar 2014, 02:24

Windows 8 updates remove grub2 and switch to Uefi "secure" boot.
This is cheating to keep market shares and Microsoft knows it. Imagine if CBS could force you back from ABC or BBC or whatever - like that?

"Throw away the remote control we will do it for you!"
So there goes Top Gear and you are forced to watch Paradise Hotel....

Caramba :f
This will only effect those who are dualbooting, so it makes sense to make the computer all Linux and run Windows 8 from a Virtualbox inside of it.

Looks like I'll need to shutoff W8 updates and finish my transition to linux only a bit faster...

There went the little relics of trust (if any at all) that remained of me for Microsoft.
