Windows XP is growing!

| Since March the market share of Windows XP is growing from 38 % in March to 42,2 % in April; meaning that 42,2 % of all computers in the world have XP installed. One can only speculate about the exact reasons, but it might have to do with people not liking Windows Vista, Windows 7 and Windows 8. It is almost incredible that XP is growing and it looks like there will be a higher acceptance in the market for Linux. The industry is worried about the security of Windows XP and fear that the world could grow full of trojan infected XP boxes that will potentially be an uncontrollable botnet. |
The virus industry has already adjusted to Windows 7 and Windows 8 and they fear that people will stay with XP after the EOL in April 2014.
It remains to be seen if this is another "buy Windows 8" campaign - powered by Microsoft.
If all of those computers would get Linux on them - then it is more than likely that this problem would vanish Microsoft might just have to cut losses on Windows 8 and come up with a Windows XP-like DE.
To all using XP on older computers:
Linux would be the perfect option for you - try Mint or Mageia
And your security concerns will be as good as over.....
