Update makes Outlook crash

For those who use Microsoft Outlook, there is an update, called MS15-115, that makes it crash. You either don't want to install the update, or uninstall it to get things working again.

More here on KB3097877.

It's also just now come to my attention that it's a rerelease.

On my personal machines I always disabled the Auto Updates. That crap most of the time pertains to MS stuff. On my former life... we had to check every single patch/hot fix. To make sure that will work. Some of them crashed our proprietary software.

Not surprising. I think for business, they should, rather than have auto updates, withhold them until they've run them on a test machine first.

Auto-updates are turned off in Windows on my machine, and I'm lucky enough not to have Outlook. I use Thunderbird on everything, and don't understand why businesses and schools don't too.

We had our own WSUS servers and that is why we checked everything before we hosed 2,000+ systems. That is not funny beta testing all their hot fixes.

Remember one time we had a Ghost Image made by one guy that was pretty lazy... the crap did not worked, locked and crashed a lot of services and applications.

Not surprising at all. Good thing you do the way you do - saves a lot of headache, time, money, etc., spares productivity.
