Chakra has switched to systemd

![]() | This might be a good time to pick up the half roling distro chakra. Like Arch they have switched to systemd and you can download a fully fledged DVD to install with all you need. Chakra is really good at the KDE desktop -and I belive some of the KDE guys are actually working with Chakra. It will probably not need the attention that Arch linux needs (and there has been a lot latly with manual setup of systemd files and replacing daemons etc). So this is your chance to get the most cutting edge software and not sacrifice the stability. Chakra does offer GTK applications like Firefox but they are practicing Apartheid so they are handled by a separate bundle manager. So this system should be fairly fast and stable. Chakra is an Arch fork but they have drifted appart so it is no good idea to mix the repos. This also speaks for more stability in Chakra. If you are a KDE guy, you should take it; if you ask me.... My only worry would be if Chakra offers enough packages - like Arch does....... ..And I haven't tested it yet |
