Gnote opens all the way on login

I've put gnote in startup applications, as I need it to start right away. There's been an ongoing problem for quite a while with it opening as soon as it starts on login. Screen looks like this right when it logs into Gnome:

It had never done it in KDE, it would just go to the system tray and be fine and happy there until today:

I had just dealt with it before when it was just doing this in Gnome, but now it's getting to be too much.
How can I get it to just go to the system tray without full-fledged opening on login like it should? I've tried two commands in Startup applications for it (there is nothing in "Preferences" or "Options" to start it on login so it has to be done this way):

Code: Select all

gnote

and

Code: Select all

gnote --search

Is there another one I should use? Thanks.

If

Code: Select all

gnote --start-minimized
does not work:
Then try

Code: Select all

gnote -systray

You might have to activate 'Use Status Icon' in Gnote-Preferences
Also it might be that your autostart runs before systray is up - in that case you will not get gnote minimized, so you have to apply a 5 second delay (give or take) in the autostart.

Use status icon is turned on. Thanks. I'll give the rest a go when I'm next on my computer.

Neither of those work either.

Thanks.

I have just been told by Joste that the note programs are supposed to do this by design, so they remind you of things that are in them; they work as a kind of reminder system., when I asked how to make a specific note pop up on login, to remind me of something.
Well then, we have another problem. I need a specific reminder (note) to pop up on login. but gnote doesn't pop up on login in Mageia at all, much less a specific one... lol. Anyone know how the KDE notes program works? Is it fairly good?
