Thunderbird blabbers on too much.

Postby dedanna1029 » 28 Sep 2015, 18:21

Anyone with a clue how I can get rid of this blathering on about Thunderbird's 10th Anniversary, etc. from the main window? I'd kind of like to see y'know, a list of emails in my list of emails window...

Thanks.

I use TBird v3.1.18 and do not see any of that... though this version was released January 31st, 2011 and I assume that most people prefer "latest and greatest" versions rather than going that far back.

Is that in your "preview window"? Like if you press F8 does it toggle that open and closed? If you highlight one of your messages does it show up in place of that garbage?

All F8 does is toggle between windows (T-bird, FF, etc.).

Finally got it - clicked 'round the various "features" - chat, etc.
It finally went away, except it just blanked the same space.
I drug the top of it down to the bottom, and voila, messages appeared.

I think they should give option to dismiss it...

But your problem is solved so why don't you mark it as such?
Manjaro 64bit on the main box -Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 CPU 920 @ 2.67GHz and nVidia Corporation GT200b [GeForce GTX 275] (rev a1. + Centos on the server - Arch on the laptop.
