Google glasses are not popular.

Google glasses were hip and all the important people made a point of wearing them. Then they discovered that people do not like to have Google paparazzis around them and bars have forbidden entry with Google glasses.

And it is pretty impossible to look good with them.

So those early fans are starting to sell their glasses on ebay now because they have gone from hip to "Glassholes". Even the co-founder of Google does not wear them anymore on official Google occasions.
Google dubbed the first set of several thousand Glass users as "Explorers." But as the Explorers hit the streets, they drew stares and jokes. Some people viewed the device, capable of surreptitious video recording, as an obnoxious privacy intrusion, deriding the once-proud Explorers as “Glassholes.”

Google has not given up the development though, they are simply focusing on Google glasses at work.
In industries and healthcare the glasses can have a good function without violating the privacy of everybody, so that makes more sense.
In April, Google launched the Glass at Work program to help make the device useful for specific industries, such as healthcare and manufacturing. So far the effort has resulted in apps that are being tested or used at companies such as Boeing and Yum Brands' Taco Bell.

The glasses are a good idea but to wear them as part of your life is just plain stupid. The only time I might see a purpose for them is in the manufacturing field, perhaps on some sports like racing. But walking around with that, is just plain dumb.
