Well, I'm on 2 week break from school until next quarter starts April 9th. I've decided to dump windows on the netbook, and go Linux whole-hog. I was wanting to save Windows for testing purposes for school, but really, we have computers all over the campus that I can use for that. Linux goes on this thing tomorrow 100%, and I'm not going to look back. Linux Mint it will be.
That is, if I can stay awake long enough. I've been sleeping so much since Friday when school was out, that it's awesome yet strange for me (and I don't really get why I'm sleeping so much, but that's what I'm doing, about 11 hours a night on average). I guess this quarter has been more of a drain than I thought.
Friday I'm moving to a better place, so don't expect me around this coming weekend (that is, if I can find someone with a pickup to help me move).
I've got a high C in Networking, an A in Unix, and well, didn't quite make it in Algebra, but it's just a pass/fail class so it won't factor into my GPA. I'll just have to take it over (unless UCCS says otherwise).
Will be transferring to UCCS after this coming quarter, and after I've gone abroad to Europe. I'll have two weeks again free after this coming quarter, and it's time to spread the wings and fly a bit.
There's the latest.
2 weeks! Yes! School's out for 2 weeks! :D

Great stuff! When will you change your nick to "the professor"?
A in Unix is good (even if we would have expected no less). And Algebra sux
When installing the distro on the entire box I am a bit puzzled that you did not pick Arch. I can see how a dual install with windows is a PITA with Arch, but when you have the entire disk at your disposal Arch is good.

The plan is to finish out my bachelor's here, then I'll be going abroad permanently, get my teaching certification there, settle down and teach there.
Oh, and re: Mint, because I have both witnessed with my own two eyes, and read in several places, that Mint is particularly good on laptops, and the netbook's close enough to that. I tried it live as well as seen it installed and running on other's laptops. Live, here, it runs like a dream.

Yes Mint is good.
Arch requires you to produce your own system - once you have managed that it is rock solid and always the first. But Mint clearly gives a working desktop right out of the box so you don't have to fiddle with the drivers yourself.
It is not a bad choice.

Exactly. It's installing now, btw.
Not like the Fedora install at all. This one I can tell is actually working lol.
