Of your own choice. Interesting concept, this.

You need to be a facebook user that makes it less interesting. Facebook is almost like a cancer these days, people link to it and expect everybody to be a part of it. It could have been something without the facebook.

yeah its a pity that its attached to facebook
facebook drove me almost insane with all the invites to farm-ville and other games
I spend a lot of time working the forums and viewing emails from business contact's :tux5:
and to have to sort out the nonsense and explain to people that I don't want the invites. :wall:
even worse is trying to get them to understand do not send me any forwards unless its vitally important
Ive gotten too much garbage before and had important emails lost to spam bombs
gets too annoying. :f that is the reason I canceled my face-book account

even though I use im's they only run when I start them.
sometimes when I'm coding slc logic programs I am concentrating on not making any errors and the messages would pop up and I would lose the train of thought

All you have to do is click the X by a game or whatever post and tell it to hide that app - I've done this with all games. People who send invites to stuff, just do a permanent ignore in settings. That's all there is to it. You can also turn off email notifications. What's so hard?

I guess it was mostly a privacy thing for me
I was getting flooded with friend invite by a lot of people I didn't know
and quite a few from some I didn't want (numerous invites a week)
I wouldn't say I'm reclusive but I prefer not to socialize unless its beneficial to all
This is one of the reasons I like forums so much
we are openly discussing things and we do not expect perfect answers all the time.
and we are more than happy to help each other whenever we can +1

you could say that the forums have been kind of like therapy for me

Well, that's a good thing. However, in FB also, you can lock down from people posting to your wall, and friend requests are just a matter of hitting the "Ignore" button.

I make good use of FB - yes, I agree on the privacy thing, but at the same time it's a great tool for things like what I do.
