@Maryyy: Negativity is something we all have to deal with in life, and know how to deal with. Yes, it's best that we don't think negatively ourselves, but if you shut off and shut out everything negative in life, it's going to probably be you and you alone at the end of the day. The point in life is learning how to deal with it when it comes.

@Viking: You're taking the "unspeakable things" remark too far (Maryyy was right on that). Maryyy just followed the leader on that (me, who shouldn't have been talking like that, and that's what I apologize for). Most would do the same. I do see what you're saying on that, and apologize for it. I won't be doing it again. Please take it out on the person who started it (me). I'm sorry but it's also a fact of life that the majority of people do go for looks at first (it's called first impressions), then find out more about that particular person's intelligence. I can't walk by a construction site (and other places, too) without getting flamingly constant whistles and "hey baby"-type remarks at me. This is also something we have to learn to deal with (normally I just walk on by; you might follow the leader on that one in this case).

I thougt the opportunity was perfect to debate reversed discrimination because it is a kind of fresh angel to point out the sexism and discrimination in Women and other minority groups (I think Maryyy is a sharp and good debater who don't likes predictable debates).
These groups are so used to playing the role of the victim (and they have been for a long time) that I find it interesting to debate it from a reversed angel. An interesting discussion was all I was looking for, no one has to apologize for anything here. (I would even expect that kind of remark -it's you so bite you:)
You should be you, and not apologize for it and so should Maryy.
But I was kind of caught by surprise when Maryyy dug inn and pulled out the Bazoka. I challenge people because I find total consensus boring and unproductive. for example if a beautiful woman shouts hey-babe after me I always smile and take it as a compliment and/or a joke (I'll settle for any woman really, not just the beautiful ones:) AH see here I go disagreeing again.

In my twisted mind it makes the discussion interesting. No need to make a drama out of it. I promise I will never take the man, only the ball.
And here the ball sure was played - sorry for taking it, I understand now that the quarteback never intended me to catch it and make the touch down.

I did not intend to offend Maryyy - but I obviously did. Maybe I toke the "unspeakable things" to far, in any case it was not working as a catalyst for a debate. Might have been to much testosterone in my attack there.

We have just witnessed how hard it is for a victim to step out of the victim "role" it is a comfortable place where you always can draw on sympathy because you are the attacked and suffering person, you deserve it! And when rehearsed long enough you need it. And you end up being intolerant because you do not accept anything but sympathy statements - you just say dramatically farewell and avoid the unpleasant confrontation with your own discrimination and intolerance.

What does that make you?
Answer: Every thing you have been fighting.

So why should not women and homos be allowed to talk like men have been for centuries in bars etc. Well they should, but that will inevitable deprive you of the victim role, which is good. You can't have both. And do take the heat that comes with it.

Her is an illustration: Some years ago I stood waiting in a crowded line to get in to a night club. Behind me was a group of women, and one of them seemed to take a particular liking in me. She was very direct (it was crowded) so she grabbed me by the balls and that huge ting in front of them. Well being shy and polite I brushed her hand away and turned towards her and she was just smiling and laughing with her friends. Then she repeated it! I did the same thing while I politely and smiling told her to stop that. I tell you that girl must really have been in love, because she did it again!

I the turned around and said loudly, so about 50 people could hear it, that she should stop grabbing my dick! I tell you that was one embarrassed girl with me and 50 others laughing. But she had a sense of humor and could take it.
Hell - I was no victim. If the roles had been reversed she could have chosen to be one - I don't think she would have.
So the first step out of the discrimination is to stop defining yourself as a victim.
If you can fight back on even terms and choose not to, then no one should feel sorry for you.

You need support to get there, but then you must be prepared to do your part, without the sympathy.
Because Sympathy alway is for the weak - and you are not, anymore. (Leave the sympathy area and enter the respect area).
