Thanks, you two! Also found resources to help get me a place to live. Will check them out Monday. Let's just hope my desktop & monitor doesn't get ripped off out of the car. It's hidden in it but I got nowhere safe to unload it so it's under risk.

Still staying at the shelter here, got sick for a bit but am better. Was able to find storage for my stuff. School starts in one week, let's hope the car can last it. It's drinking about two quarts of tranny fluid a day (it turned out to be the main seal that is leaking), so I'm fairly much screwed on transportation. Just hope the weather holds out. I'm going to get a bike from the bike clinic here, and ride it back to wherever "home" is at the time, take the bus to school (the bike can ride on the bus on the bus' bike rack with me on the bus to school, ride the bike home).

Hopefully can find a place to live that's close to school in about a month when financial aid comes in. Hopefully also, with a room-mate, so I won't have so much rent to pay every month.

Take care all, I'm outta here 'til next time.

Just thought I'd share a bit. There are sub-albums on the right (or left, depending on browser, IIRC).

I am not in very good spirits. The exact same day I reported to them that I was homeless and gave a rescue shelter address for them to mail to me, social security disability denied my appeal (I had already applied and been the route, denied, then appealed), which was this last Friday (and I find that timing highly suspicious). Now, I have to wait for the denial letter to come in before I can even get a lawyer and appeal again, and it also means nothing to help with transpo for the first three weeks of school.

Life goes on... it sucks sometimes.

Nice pictures, flowers. Sux about the Social Security bureaucracy. I heard they just deny automatically as the first response to an application. Hang in there!

Yes, they do. But now they have denied both my application AND another 3-month wait for the appeal, and denied it too. Right on the day I report to them I'm homeless? Hhmmmm... this country isn't liking homeless people too much these days. I'm betting...

I swear I'm despising the corporatocracy these days. Anyone who wants a real rebel against it, follow me on FB. http://www.facebook.com/dedannarocks - you will need to request to add. I'm done venting online except on there. Have a good one.

Yup. I have thought many a time of walking up to some lazy INS officer and saying I'm here illegally as a Brit (just to wake his arse up), and bribing him into jailing me and then sending me home.

Started school on Monday. It will be a difficult semester, in particular as I'm an M$ hellion rebellion.

Classes: Problem Solving Concepts with C++ (this one will be difficult, and I hate it already)
World History to 1500 (will be difficult, but I've been dying to take it for years)
Intro to Web Standards (depending on the first day, I may end up waiving this one and just going straight for the final exam; am already experienced with HTML and web standards in general).

Still trying to get into a place, and staying at the Salvation Army shelter. Will need to find a room mate, which won't be easy, not knowing anyone here. We'll see what happens when Financial Aid comes in.

There's your quick update. There's been some bumps in this road, but hope remains eternal. Take care.

You have a lot of guts. Be a nice girl and just listen to the MS stuff and use it. It will enlighten you further on why you love Linux :T
And regarding the history up til 1500?
Hah that is easy: The Vikings the Vikings The Vikings! +1 Odin, Tor, Loke, Midgaardsormen, Leiv Erikson who discovered America (Wineland), Ygdrasil (the world tree - and also the name of the first Linux distro).
The Normans who invaded Britain in 1066 (Normann means Norwegian - That is why Normandie France is a Norwegian colony +1)). The founder of the nowegian colony - Normandie - was Gange Rolf - In france he is called Rollon I believe.

Well it gets somewhat more boring as of 1200 (the middle ages). But as a curiosity, you would probably have been burned back then. :-D
And then you have the period where a lot of gay kings wearing wigs (Loui 14 even looked like Donald Trump - so I have been told +1), bothered a lot of people until the people decided to chop their heads of, after they had liberated their friends from the Bastille (The prison).
This was on the 14th of July in 1789 so you can forget it already (after 1500). But it is referred to as the French revolution - and is the main inspiration for your constitution.

It happened a lot in those pre Microsoft times too.....

Yeah. I'm a bit confused. The class is called "World History to 1500", yet starts at the 16th century and moves forward? WTF?

That means that you will start at 1500 and stop at 1600. The start of the 16th century is 1500. (Counting with and without zero etc).
And no Vikings :berserkf
