With one % market share for regular desktops Linux looks like an obscure OS for geeks. But now we are redeemed!

The US Federal court court uses it. Toyota motor sales uses it. The US department of defense uses it. The US navy submarine fleet uses it. The French parliament uses it. And the State-Owned Industrial and Commercial Bank of China uses it for banking. And above all; Omaha steaks uses it
In short: If you really need your system too work and be reliable you need Linux.
Here is an interesting list.
On second thought it makes sense: Who in their right mind would leave national security to Windows? Or any other security dependent area for that matter?

Not on the list, that I can see, a news bite that has already had its 15 minutes of fame, perhaps, but related, afaict, nonetheless:

The individual state governments, which have a huge impact on "national security" in general, county governments, and city governments. I know this for fact; I used Win 7 Pro on my job for the state here. They give not a rats about Linux. Whether Obama uses it or not, they haven't even heard about it (and if they have, they don't care).

Oh, and even rolf can say that "national security" has been a misnomer here in the states for years now.

Dude, O ran his campaign on customised Utuntu. I used it myself, when I worked on his campaign (and then a week after he got into office regretted it). It's nothing new for O on Linux.

The thing is, it's not going to do a bit of good until everyone else in government does, too. As I said, what the state governments do, largely impacts things.

Yeah, good on O for using it, but now he needs to make the rest of government use it, too.
