You know it's spring when...

Postby dedanna1029 » 05 May 2012, 02:57

When you see flowers blooming, animals coming out of the woods to show off, and people are having a great time everywhere.

This is a mother goose (no, really lol) that showed up in our school's courtyard the other day. From what I understand from someone who has seen her with them, she has babies there, too. Smart mother she is. She couldn't have picked a better place for them! :) Our school courtyard is beautiful, with two ponds with sprinklers, trees of all kinds (including flowering ones!), students walking through who love animals and don't hesitate to feed them, so she and her babies will always have food and water. The only time the school removes them, is if they become a real hazard or become a huge problem. The courtyard very quickly, from my first day at school, became my place of refuge. It's quiet there, and absolutely gorgeous.

We also have a brown bear that hangs out there occassionally. From what I hear, he's relatively tame (really, yes! Tame!), but they put up a warning about him on the doors of the school just in case, so people don't freak out. If I get chance to see him, I'll snap him, as well as the mother goose with her babies.

If you go one album up from that one, you'll see one of two other residents who live in the courtyard. :)

This folder has some more beauties that I get to see in daily life here in Colorado, from fall and spring both. There will be many more to come, I'm sure. There's even more at my flickr, and some of those are absolutely primo, to include some from this winter.

Enjoy.

How long does winter usually last for you over there?

It should be over pretty much by the end of March. But there can always be those days. This was one of them I guess.
