Some views on exotic foreigners

Postby viking60 » 03 Jun 2012, 16:46

I suspect that French law is applicable for forums on French servers. This is presented as a non negotiable minimum to obey by in France:
http://forum.mandriva.com/fr/viewtopic. ... 0&t=131395
So I implemented the text in the Norwegian forum.

Here it is stated that it is illegal to deny the existence of crimes against humanity

Denying the existence of crime against humanity is illegal in France.

So I wonder if is this correct in general, or if it is only for one "particular" crime (Holocaust)?
If it is in general; who has the definition power - when does it "officially" become such a crime - when the French president says so?
Certainly not when the Iranian president says so:
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/middle_east/4527142.stm
He is committing a crime in Germany and France here, but not in the rest of Europe.

In Scandinavia you may well deny the existence of such a crime, in the name of free speech (and you may equally well be criticized for it - in the name of free speech).
(Protecting free speech is the important issue here, especially the kind of speech that is not mainstream).

It also looks like it is illegal to promote drugs tobacco and alcohol in French forums. If it is for commercial purposes that is illegal here too but I have a hard time believing that the French are not allowed to promote Wine. :confused

Since this board is not on a french server I will hereby use my freedom of speech to state that it should be a crime to eat Carpaccio without a good Chianti to go with it

And it should be a crime to forbid anyone to say so... :-D

Strange people these french......

At a glance I thought it was Jamon Serrano with some Tinto.

Would not mind having it for lunch or dinner.

Of course, that all being unlike here in the states, where if you state that a crime is happening, everyone and their dog goes into denial over it and crawls down your neck to believe same.
I'd rather be a free person who fears terrorists, than be a "safe" person who fears the government.
