some of the machines at work use the old allen bradly plc2 and getting the software for linux is non existent as allen bradley will not write software for linux
our engineer told me that linux is useless
well i found an old hard drive with the dos based interface program for the plc2 :jackpot
got the boss cranked up when i used dosemu in linux to run the old program and wrote new programs for the plc's (using my linux laptop) :A
our engineer is a diehard windows fanboy and quite an arrogant turd at that
when i made a usb interface to do it (all i need is pinout info) he about dropped a load in his shorts!

MS fanboys are so lost. The thing is, they invested so much $ and effort on all the POSs MS licences. With that and $0.50 they might get a cup of coffee on the local Starbucks.

Strange I seem to know the exact same guy :think:

It probably is insecurity; when all they know may become less important... and replaced with something they have no clue about.
Scary stuff that - so arrogance and blocking is the safest bet.

The problem in those cases is that the CEO's have neglected the area and delegated blindly ..and know very little about it.

whats amusing now is that in 45 days i retire and they are frantic about getting apprentices scheduled for me to train before my last day

well retirement day is here! :jackpot
finished clearing out my stuff and adding some final training files to the computer for the younger guys and gals.
I will miss some of the people but not the headaches the place has given me. :C
my cats are happy because they both piled onto my lap when i got home. :love
Im enjoying a cold beer before i set up the christmas tree (and will laugh my butt off at the kitten when she climbs the tree)
i hope to get some cute pics of her in and about the tree :lolup
