If this site should go down!

If this site should go down for some reason like a hurricane or a bomb at the ISP or simply be censored by the NSA then there is a (more or less) up to date version of this forum at:

https://viking60.no-ip.org/forum
(you must make an exeption for my certificate when you get the https warning)

I will probably not bother fixing all the images and it will be as current as my last mysql backup.
(remind me if it gets to old :-D )

The point is:
You can post there while this site is down - ask questions - and I will probably put out info there in such a case.
And that priceless info that you needed fast will be there too. +1
So write down the address above - because if this site is down you cannot go here to check it out :P

That backup is on a box here that I experiment a lot with, so it might not be up all the time (but most of the time - and for sure if this site is down).

I recommend xpad yellow stickers for making notes like this.

Feel free to make a test post there - it should work (and will be overwritten with the next mysql backup).

Due to incompetent techs at my ISP port 80 is reserved for their use even if they offer Dynamic DNS webserver. They claim that the port has been opened but that does not help me if they are the ones using it.

So this server will not be online until I get hold of someone qualified. Since this has been up for over a year we all know it is possible.

What is impossible is to get in touch with someone competent enough to fix this at the ISP's.

You could use 8080

Had a server once and the ISP blocked inbound port 80 requests.

Might go back and create a FTP like I used to have.

The way to communicate without using DNS was by using the URL like ftp://123.123.123.123/folder_name:21
The IP is the ISP home router address and enable port forwarding to the FTP node.

Worked like a charm and under the radar :D

Puh After several years I gave up on the Arch server and installed centos 7.
Not the easiest I have done but Now it works - sort of.
Here is the new address if the site should go down:
:A
http://viking60.no-ip.org/public_html/phpBB/

I am having issues with SeLinux so bare with me if it looks strange at times while I am trying to fix it.

I have simply kept the Arch home and done a Centos7 minimal install.Well simply is the wrong word . but the LAMP server is up and noip seems to be working.
So we have a backup forum again. Let me know if you find bugs.

Since the backup site is pretty identical to this one -you can recognize that it is the backup site by me not having an avatar there.
Edit:
SElinux is enforcing and the site is still up - I was saved by the brilliant content on this forum:

The Backup site is replaced with an Apache welcome site at the moment due to an ISP Fubar. Im working on it....
