The backup site is now https!

I have made me a certificate and signed it myself.

Then I implemented this certificate on viking60.no-ip.org so that it now is :
:drummer
:drummer
https://viking60.no-ip.org/forum

Here you will get a warning about me not being an official authority on certificates so it could be bad etc.

Well it isn't so simply accept it +1

You do that by adding exception or something similar.

The internet traffic will then be encrypted there - I found that fitting since I now also have a cloud on than box (already heavily encrypted).

The internet traffic is supposed to be more secure there now.

Have you considered using Let's Encrypt to obtain a free trusted certificate? That will remove the need for adding an exception and will get you one of those green padlocks in the address bar. See https://helloworld.letsencrypt.org/ for an example.
