Adobe stops development of flash player for mobile devices.

Postby viking60 » 14 Nov 2011, 00:33

Adobe is giving up on the mobile Flashplayer

On the mobile gadgets HTML 5 will be the future. Adobe say that HTLM5 is so far advanced and widely supported that it will be the best system for mobile devices, according to Danny Winokur; Vice President and General Manager for interactive development.
He points out that HTML5 is the only option on some systems. He is clearly referring to Apple there, that has no support for flash.
In the future Adobe will assist flash developers to pack the Apps for the devices, but they will not do any further development - only security and bug fixes.
Is this a token for the traditional desktop too?
Manjaro 64bit on the main box -Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 CPU 920 @ 2.67GHz and nVidia Corporation GT200b [GeForce GTX 275] (rev a1. + Centos on the server - Arch on the laptop.

It doesn't support mine. I've had no flash or html5 on it.
I'd rather be a free person who fears terrorists, than be a "safe" person who fears the government.
