Compiz-fusion issue in Arch Linux? SOLVED

Postby dedanna1029 » 22 Aug 2010, 19:43

I seem to remember a place for the Cube, where we could put in both a top and bottom cap (image of our own). I'm only seeing one place to put that in now. It doesn't show up on both either:

Am I missing something here, or ? As an addendum, the one I put in there isn't even showing up, and I moved it to the top.

Thanks.

Try under Effects ->Cube reflection and deformation
You should be able to define top and bottom pics. there.

That only works on the cylinder though. I have that set there, but I'm getting nothing but the default top and bottom caps on the regular cube itself. :( I get top and bottom when I have the cylinder ticked (cube reflection and deformation), but not for the regular cube when it's un-ticked.

Yes sorry I use the cylinder. I'll have a look tomorrow.

Thanks a bunch! I use both, so it would be nice to be able to get the regular cube going, too.

OK here we go:
Desktop->-Desktop cube->Appearance
Rightklikk the freedesktop (under Cube caps) entry under images and "upload" your pic. That will take care of the top image. And you knew that - looking for the bottom alternative now.....
And can't find it. You are right - this seems to be non existent.

Okay. Is this worth reporting, or no?

I am not sure if it is an error. Nothing is wrong, it just is not there.

That's what I mean. Is it worth filing a bug on that it's missing?

Sure - Since it is on the Cylinder, that can be defended. (Upstream of course - it is the same in Mandriva)

Interesting. Has one already been filed upstream I wonder?

Found out how you can do this in Arch and every other distro
Put the pics on top and bottom of the cylinder.
Go to Effects and Cube Reflection and Deformation.
Pick the Deformation tab.
And set deformation to none.
Now you have a cube with pic on top and bottom.
