Grr frustrated over ssh

Postby viking60 » 24 Aug 2010, 01:32

I have a load of boxes here. One of them is a thosiba equium laptop with Mandriva. I can ping it but I can not log into it with ssh from my Mandriva desktop, even if the sshd daemon is running. Firewall is turned off. The strange thing is that I can ssh into the desktop from the laptop so the port must be open.
This is usually the easy stuff - why me :f

Well no answers here and I don't blame you. I simply remembered the name of the PC wrong! It has one name for conneting and another when actually logged in.
Caramba a noob would never make a mistake like that. I have to go over this PC's name settings now. Stupid mistake.

Sorry. :(

Was at a loss myself.

Yes well the interesting part now is to find out how on earth I managed to give that PC two different names. One that is announced to the network and another that actually works with ssh. I am on it :D
