Yep, it was a classic, but it was so commercial! /me much prefers Shine On You Crazy Diamond and the like...

Yes that is a nice one. My first Pink Floyd record was "Wish you were here" and most of it is Shine on you crazy dimaond. (In fact there are several diamonds). It is a nice tribute to Syd Barret who suffered from a mental condition. It is beutiful.

Ah, nice. :)

Shine On You Crazy Diamond is also an album in and of itself. Very long version(s) of the song. Love it.

Coincidentally, a friend posted a classic to Facebook this evening, and it was so nice to hear, and see:

So you run and you run to catch up with the sun but it's sinking
Racing around to come up behind you again.
The sun is the same in a relative way but you're older,
Shorter of breath and one day closer to death.

Every year is getting shorter never seem to find the time.
Plans that either come to naught or half a page of scribbled lines
Hanging on in quiet desperation is the English way
The time is gone, the song is over,
Thought I'd something more to say.

No gods, no masters.

WOW :!: This is great. Belive it or not I have not heard that one before. I put it on so loud that the whole house came down, complaining. I just threw them out. This is art :!:

Wow. Interesting you hadn't heard it. It's on their "Dark Side of the Moon" album.
