Is it possible to install HP3535 ink jet printer and HP 2400 scanner with Fedora Core or Knoppix OS? I am new to Linux and just want to try out a new Linux distribution and the latest open source Technology. Is it possible to install HP3535 inkjet printer and HP 2400 scanner with Fedora Core or Knoppix OS? My Dear friends, could you explain how can I do that? What are the websites anyone can get such information easily?

Hi and welcome lilliana :greetings Yes it is possible with Fedora it will most likely auto-detect the printer. I guess the scanner will work too. I use HP photosmart with a scanner here and it all works fine (on an Archlinux computer configured as a network printer).
If You are new to Linux Fedora will probably be fine, but traditionally Mandriva, Ubuntu and Suse have been regarded as the most "user friendly" for beginners.
Anyway Fedora will probably be one of the best regarding printer detection.
I know for a fact that there are many Fedora users here; I am sure they will be able to help you further.
Do you need help on installing Fedora first?
You can download it here
Or do you only need help with the printer installation?
We will be happy to help in both cases!

On F13 all that I had to do was switch the printer on. Fedora detected it and configured it automatically. If auto detection/configuration does not work, then either install and launch system-config-printer or install the hplip packages and run hp-setup.
