Windows 8

ImageBallmer on Windows 8 and the Cloud. He states that Windows 8 is a risky project and that the Cloud can be safe, and that Win7 phone will be a billion dollar market.

Well, is a must see. The MS releases I think it will be the kiss of the death to them along with Nokia. On the enterprise where MS makes most of their money, releasing a new OS too often is not a good idea. We still using XP now they have what Win7 and thinking on 8?

Cloud computing it has been done and is now out there and we are using it. So far, they have not made anything important or significant beside placing big brother in your house with Kinect.

Cloud is simply leaving your data on someone else's server. They used to call it outsourcing. When people discover how bad it really is, they will come up with a new name like "the Universe" or something. Same sh... new wrapping.
Some companies and governments love the cloud because it gives them control. I bet Hillary Clinton would have loved to control the cloud Wikileaks is storing its data on.
I doubt that WinPhone 7 is going to be a success. They are falling to far behind there.

I bet MS is going to pull an Apple with Win7 Phone. Make all proprietary and force you to have a Microsoft Ecosystem.

For example, the Win7 phone make it work like a remote control for the Kinect and perhaps Windows TV with MS OS all tied up in the cloud.

So if you have Apple, that does not work with it across platform.

The competition will be what Ecosystem gives you the best bang.

Open Source can do cloud computing with the choice of hardware and OSs Vs Ecosystems.
