If I'd had the cash to throw around, I would've bought it, seen if I could've gotten some of the old devels back, and continued the distro as-is... then gone from there with other things. Worked with the community, seen what I could do there to repair that relationship, and follow the best of their input. At the end of the day, it's the community that makes the distro; the devels just put it together from their input, and there are people in the community that make good business sense. Gather ideas, and just do what I could to keep the business going, and develop it further.
I think there's a huge lesson to be learned there. ^^
The domain name alone of mandriva.com is a nice and good one; would've probably worked on the site too in order to give it more advertising and attention. Wish I could buy that, at least.
Oh, and these days, it appears to me anyway, that there is Turbo Linux and Fedora under the hood - the installer alone reminds me of Fedora's.
