Amazon presents Kindle Fire

Postby viking60 » 28 Sep 2011, 23:29

ImageAmazone has presented their 7 inch Kindle Fire.
The OS is Linux Android (version unknown) but they have made their own Look and Feel.

It comes with a new browser called Silk, developed by Amazone. It uses the so called Split-Browser-Architecture to access the Amazon Web service cloud (AWS) as kind of a proxy, to speed things up!

It can play flash, and all Apps are "Amazon tested" (why does that sound like lack of compatibility?)
You can order now and get the wonder in mid November!
Manjaro 64bit on the main box -Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 CPU 920 @ 2.67GHz and nVidia Corporation GT200b [GeForce GTX 275] (rev a1. + Centos on the server - Arch on the laptop.
