Videos bought for Xbox don't play on Win 8

The "everything at once" ambition of Microsoft is followed up by some strange strategies. Microsoft does in fact warn in small letters that Xbox videos cannot be played on Windows 8.
In the marketing so far there has been a strong cross platform focus where the transformation between MS products was the biggest advantage -ever.

Microsoft pretends that they are interested in knowing what their customers want so they have made a survey to "find out". So if the majority should surprisingly suggest that Microsoft videos should be playable on Microsoft phones, then ofcourse MS will implement it - they just hadn't thought of it ( a "better to be stupid than incapable" strategy). This is a rather pathetic effort to try to cover up this bummer, so how could this happen?

The main speculation is that top people have left the company.
