Mandriva becomes Russian!

This makes the New CEO a man of his words, and also makes the predictions of Mandrivas death untrue. It is more than likely that the Russians - NGI - dictated the terms, like anyone would, before putting 3 Million Euros on the table. This gives them a controlling majority and that must mean that they have plans for the distro.

Mandriva is not dead - It remains to see in which direction it will go and how the new fork mageia will develop. In fact it is the strategy of Mandriva to further develop the desktop. This could reduce Mageia to just another fork. Mandriva is bought by the Russians

Well, it's about time (past time, really). Glad to see some kind of news come out of it all.

I do not know what will come out of this.

No offense to the Russians but I think the French stole their money.

For what I read, I am under the Impression that Mandriva cashed on what can be liquidated and sold a Hollow Company to another party.

That is my take on the move.

Well they must be smart then. Steeling 3 Million Euros and getting away with it is not a bad accomplishment I like the competition; it keeps them both on their toes.
If Mandriva goes back to sleep they are dead and so would mageia be, if they start sleeping. It is to the benefit of the users.

I still thinking they should change that name from Mageia to some better.

Let's face it, in the Linux world they really suck at naming projects.

People reacts to buzz words that is what attracts them.

If you want to be commercial successful pick a better name.
