What are these? Why are they there?
If someone could tell me what all these goutputstream files are, I'd greatly appreciate it. They've shown up randomly in ~/. and I had never seen files repeat themselves (same file name with different numbers at the end) like I have since I went Linux Mint 12. There are other files that do this as well (hoping upon hope it's not that dumb worm, which I totally do not understand). But seriously, goutputstream*? I don't get it. Wish I could remember the names of the other ones that do this, but it's been a while since I've been on the netbook, and I just can't. Here is the contents of one of them, .goutputstream-AADDIW:

Well just rename them with and see if it boots ok after that. And google "stupidfile" first!
And do the rkhunter -c and chkrootkit stuff too.

They are created on shutdown and one workaround is to log off then shut down.

Past experience demonstrates best method to tighten bolts is to use appropriate size spanners.
