Internet Explorer’s market share has reached an all time low, falling below 60% in April with Firefox and Chrome steadily increasing their share.
According to Conceivably Tech, Internet Explorer users have declined since August 2009 by nearly 10%, while Firefox users have slightly increased by 5% or so, with Chrome taking a leap and increasing to a near 10% market share.

As much as you hate MS and you use Windows by any reasons, there is no way to eradicate IE.
Perhaps IE can be called OS Fibrosis...
Is so embedded on the OS, the only way to remove that is to kill the patience.
It comes to my mind....
Windows is like a very old sic individual
Is and archaic, decrepit, overweight and senile
Needs a cabinet full of meds, like Anti Virus, Patches, Anti add-malware-and-only-god-knows.
It voids its bowels quiet often.
Most of the times you have to give CPR.
