Re: Arch Linux
Now if they'd just fix mplayer to work with pulseaudio, I myself would do real good. As it is, been staying in Fedora just for that reason.

What do you mean? I have mplayer working with pulseaudio!

Re: Arch Linux
I've uninstalled it and reinstalled it, tried the version in AUR, everything. That situation still hasn't resolved. It won't even show up in Pulseaudio's Volume Control-->Applications.

Re: Arch Linux
Do you have any specifics? Examples? It could be a hardware thing of course.

Re: Arch Linux
OK the news here then I guess, is that it cannot be a bug. Then I would have the problem too. Lemme know if you would like to see some of my settings.
I think I described how I got it to work in that second link (removing and reinstalling tovid).

Re: Arch Linux
I didn't have tovid installed until long after I had mplayer installed. I install mplayer right off the bat after any installation of a Linux OS. It can't be tovid. The issue started long before I had tovid installed. Didn't install tovid until you had the issue with gtkrecordmydesktop.

It appears I have a full system upgrade here in Arch, and I have no clue how to answer the question at the end here:
Edit: I went ahead and went for it, and we be having issues already:

Re: Arch Linux
No big problem:) If you do:
It will pick the 8 most updated mirrors and sort it by speed.
You may have to edit the mirror list file and correct the arch (i686 or x86_64) at the end of each mirror line.
Like this: sudo nano /etc/pacman.d/mirrorlist
You might want to copy /etc/pacman.d/mirrorlist.pacnew to /etc/pacman.d/mirrorlist first tho...

Re: Arch Linux
Had already done all that. That's not what I was referring to. The issue was nvidia. The upgrade totally borked. gdm, nvidia, X totally hosed. See the sticky bug.

Re: Arch Linux
Quiet from me now beacause I am installing Arch on a laptop here again. X and gdm + gnome, I managed immediately this time. And then I scratched may head cursing for an hour or two, why the hell I couldn't ssh into that box.
The answer? I had forgotten to punch a ":" in /etc/hosts.allow
So I punched ssdh ALL in stead of the correct
