Nokia replacing CEO with MS guy

Postby viking60 » 11 Sep 2010, 22:08

Nokia has replaced the current CEO - Olli-Pekka Kallasvuo - with Stephen Elop the head of Microsoft Business division.
Nokia appoints Stephen Elop to CEO

I wonder if this a good or a bad thing or if it matters at all?

That's what I'm wondering.
I'd rather be a free person who fears terrorists, than be a "safe" person who fears the government.

I think NOKIA's short term strategies will be implemented. But what happens in the long turn is another matter.

Nokia is not MS but both are Corporations.

3 things could happen...

1) A partnership with MS for Win 7 Mobile or...

2) Same type of marketing, advertisement and business tactics as MS.

3) Or both.

So far Nokia is king in the world but sucks really bad in the USA market (except for the cheap free phones given to new accounts).
