laser printer

Can you use regular printer paper in a laser printer, or do you specifically have to use laser printer paper? I notice that some printer paper is called laser printer paper, and other kinds are just called printer paper. Do you have to use the kind that specifically says it's for laser printers, or can just regular printer paper be used? What's the difference?

As far as I recall from my laser printing days we only used normal paper. But I see that it is big business to sell paper for laser printers so let us see if there are some gurus with experience on this here...
Manjaro 64bit on the main box -Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 CPU 920 @ 2.67GHz and nVidia Corporation GT200b [GeForce GTX 275] (rev a1. + Centos on the server - Arch on the laptop.

The "laser printer" paper, while slightly better quality, it's not enough to make it worthwhile. Regular paper is fine to use with a laser printer. My mom even recycles paper that she makes mistakes with, etc. with her laser printer, and it works fine (regular paper; she's used it for years with the same HP laser printer).
